Doesn't this look good?

I'm trying to get a bunch of friends together to go to the China Buffet in Watertown on Saturday -the weekend of the school play.

If you're reading this, you're my friend!

We're eating around 5. Let me know if you can come!!

Newsflash of the century!

I have a boyfriend!

(yes, everyone smile, sigh, and say "awhh")

Well, Tim and I finally had "the talk." We've been "maranatha dating" (which doesn't take much) for a little while now, but as of yesterday, we are "officially" dating. It doesn't change things that much, but it's nice to know where things sorta stand. We're both still getting to know each other. He took me to a driving range yesterday. I've never played golf, and I dislike mini-golf because I'm horrible. It was a good humbling experience. I need to find something that I'm good at and he's not....hmmm.... I'll take any suggestions that you have to offer. (:

a Smorgasbord

Here's a fun picture from choir tour. The family we stayed with had a little boy who was six -going on 12 years old. He was super smart. He wasn't quite happy with the fact that girls were invading his room. (Don't worry; we didn't all sleep in his bed.) We had to take this picture because Jackie (not pictured) loves spiderman, and we knew she'd be jealous of our placement for the night.

Happy Thought: SpRiNg BrEaK is here! WHo hooo. I'm soooooo excited about this break. I love sleep. Sleep and I are friends. We've been apart far too long.

My week:
Monday- visit the dentist (what a way to start out vacation!)
Tuesday- close at the bakery
Wednesday- babysit my niece, Kara (My idea of vacation!!)
Thursday- close at the bakery
Friday- work at Maranatha
Saturday- open at the bakery
Inbetween all those times- starting some school projects and getting together with friends.

SOo, what are YOU doing this week? Let me know!

Feel you nose, and start counting...

I felt my pulse today in one of my classes. I was just sitting there with my hand on my nose, and all of a sudden, I felt this pulsing sensation. I took my hand off my nose, and put it back on, and the pulse was still there! My friends around me all then proceeded to try it out (on their own noses, of course). I don't know if they believed me or not....but hey, it worked for me!

p.s. I just checked it out again, and it's still there! (:

Seeking Things Above: it's a daily thing

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. (Colossians 3:1-7)

The Fundamentalism conference started off tonight with a great message. I am particularily fond of Colossians chapter three because it was the main focus of my summer at camp. Here's some shared notes from the summer at Northland:

Dead to Sin - Sin's presence has not been removed, but the reigning, dominating power of sin in my life has been broken (Romans 6:1-2, 12). I am no longer a slave to sin! A real, spiritual surgery has taken place on my inner man so that a new principle of life has been implanted within my heart (the new birth). I have been co-resurrected with Christ. "Burried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead" (Colossians 2:12). There is now a divine nature within me that supplies new desires and impulses towards the pursuit of a heavenly lifestyle.

In response to this work, believers are connected to seek things above. This is a determined pursuit to set one's direction and purpose of life towards spiritual realities. We are to seek in order to find; to crave or desire. It is a command that involves continuous action. This involves spiritual worship and daily meditation on the Word of God. We are to live for a whole new world! People, events, purposes, and plans are all to be seen with an eternal outlook. This includes:
1. Seeing the Lordship of Christ in all my purposes.
2. Seeking the Likeness of Christ in all my character.
3. Showing the Love of Christ in all my service.

I must constantly re-orient and refresh my mind towards thinking these things.

The world will never be able to understand this life. Jesus lives in the heavens and cannot be seen with the eyes of unbelieving minds. Also, Christians are not seen for who they really are because they are "hid with Christ in God." However, one day a great unveiling will take place. Christ will return to the earth in all His glory to be revealed for all to see. Coming with Him will be believers in their glorified bodies. This hope is a powerful encouragement for believers to stay strong and focused on God and our life in Him.

HiDe AnD sLeEp

SO it's Friday night. Yep, sure is.
I had a full evening! After work I went over to Mr. Pete's house with a bunch of co-workers. It was a blast. I learned how to play a crazy version of uno. It was insane. After that I brainstormed w/ Ashlee and Laura to figure out a presentation we have to give next week. They're going to do the research, and I get to stand up in the classroom and present it. I think I'm getting the better end of the deal....I think (and pray). I'm saying "I" a lot. Sorry - getting side-tracked.

Anywhoo, after that, I decided to see how many times it would take me to throw an old poster from one end of Melford 1st-floor hallway to the other. (Can you imagine my suspense here?) It took me 7 times one way, then 8 times the next! Can you believe it? First floor was hopping, let me tell you. Then, to brighten up my day, some girls wanted me to take their picture with towls on their head. I delightedly stepped up to the challenge. We then decided to play sardines in the dorm - with no boundaries! Only 7 of us were playing, and Brandi hid so well that I still don't think we found her. I mean, I checked the stalls, the showers, the storage rooms, underneath beds, in the dryers, etc!! I just gave up and came back to my room. It was fun running around to all the rooms here though. I wonder how long she'll stay hidden.

Lets see....I think that about fills up my evening. Next time you get bored (and want to ignore homework), just start throwing some paper in the hallway, and the fun will just come to you!

To michigan...and quickly back.

Hello dear reader!

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Quite the contrary: I've just been driving around it in the forlorn state of Michigan.

Choir tour was great.
I ate.
I think I just sealed my fate
At an early death rate.
Some watched their weight.
They I hate.

Honestly, choir tour was a big blessing. I was spiritually challenged and encouraged. Now back to the reality of school. I'm so glad that God doesn't let us see everything in our future. Maybe it'd be nice, but I think I'd go hide in a hole. One step at a time, Hannah girl.
